| Chrysler,
Dodge, and Plymouth cars and trucks are often referred to by their owners as
"Mopars". Those poor uninitiated souls who have never had the pleasure of
owning one often ask what "Mopar" means. The simple answer is a Chrysler,
Dodge or Plymouth car or truck. The longer answer is that it is an abbreviation for MOtor
PARts, one of the names of Chrysler Corporation's parts division. This was
where the owner of a Mopar went to get technical bulletins and parts to increase the
performance of his or her vehicle. It was also known at one time as "Direct
Connection", and nowadays goes by the name "Mopar Performance". |
